Hearts need a mind like a clock needs the time.

So it’s our last day of year 9 today.

This year has been good and i’ve learnt heaps. My favourite things that we did in english was probably reading the story about the kids at a school on Venus and they only get summer for one day in seven years. I thought it was a very interesting story. Wiki link

The bell just went and i have to go now.

Farewell!

Free Rice

I have been playing this all night.

For every answer you get correct,  they donate 10 grains of rice.

“FreeRice has two goals:

  1. Provide English vocabulary to everyone for free.
  2. Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.

This is made possible by the sponsors who advertise on this site.

Whether you are CEO of a large corporation or a street child in a poor country, improving your vocabulary can improve your life. It is a great investment in yourself.

Perhaps even greater is the investment your donated rice makes in hungry human beings, enabling them to function and be productive. Somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide.”

It’s for a good cause, have a go :)

If the world is ending, I’m throwing the party.

In VPE (sose) we recently watched An Inconvenient truth. It really made me think about our earth, are we doing enough for our planet? Are not enough people taking action?

It made me ask myself a lot of things.

Global warming is a serious issue, I don’t think that everyone is aware of the effects and the causes. I suggest you watch the film, it’s quite good and very informative. It really makes you think.

But I think too much.

I take my chances at airports and statelines

The last fornight I have had school holidays. In my first week of the holidays I stayed home, but the second week I flew to Sydney with my mum to compete at the Baton Twirling National championships. So I what interested me most about that? Well, I watched the World championship trials. The baton twirlers that trial are fantastic. Only a small number of them actually get to compete at the world championships. One pairs routine, one Australian team and a few individual events. One day maybe I will trial for world championships, but I am not interested at the moment.

August 5th

Ok so, I know it has been a long time since I’ve posted, but my life is pretty much big ball of boring.

Though, on the 5th of August i went to The Academy is…and Cobra Starship concert, so I decided I’ll write about my day.

Isabel and I arrived at the venue at around 9:30AM, we were third in the waiting line, with a 3 and a half hour wait (Yes, i know, you can call us crazy).

About 10 minutes later, people from the street team arrived, they lined up with us. After a while we got really bored and decided to…er…vandalize the place with “Santi”. So i wrote Santi on a stop sign and Mel and Cassie completely covered the place with it, written in chalk. I must admit that was good fun.

After even more “exciting” waiting, Cobra Starship’s bass guitarist, Alex Suarez, came around the corner. I think he was really suprised at the turn out of people, cos he was surrounded by people. So i met him and got my picture with him. Alex is a really nice guy, and funny too.

Girl: How are you liking Melbourne?

Alex: We’re not in Sydney?

Haha, yeah it made me laugh.

Anyway, after Alex had to leave to do soundcheck, Vicky-t from Cobra Starship came around the other corner, she was so nice and she said she was flattered by how many people loved her. I got my picture with her, then she had to go to do soundcheck aswell.

So after a lot more waiting (about 2 more hours), the doors finally opened and we could go inside. I was so excited and i was in the front row. It was a pretty small venue, which was good.

City Riots were the opening band, they are from South Australia and they were great.  Then Cobra Starship came out, they were fantastic. Gabe pointed and smiled at me when they played ‘Send My Love To The Dancefloor’. It made me feel special :). Their last song was Snakes On A Plane (Bring It), William Beckett from The Academy is… came out to do his chorus parts, the crowd went mental and they went even more mental when Sisky from The Academy is… came out and did the rap (originally Travis from Gym Class heroes part, he wasn’t there though, obviously) .After a fantastic set by Cobra Starship, Josh the guitar tech, James the sound guy and Tony the tour manager came out and fiddled with some guitars.

Finally, The Academy is… came out to play their set. It was the best. William grabbed my hand a few times :)                After their set, everyone was chanting “One more song”, so they came out and played 2 more songs. Of course i cried, it was the best day ever.

After the craziness, we all went outside to meet the band, i met William and Sisky from The Academy is… and Gabe from Cobra Starship, they were the nicest guys ever. Plus, William gives really good hugs :) Unfortunately it was time to go home, so i couldn’t meet Michael, oh well. it was an amazing day i will never forget.

Hi!

it’s been a while since my last post.

It’s coming into the last week of term 2. Exams and assesments are over (WOOHOO).

One more week until i can relax! This term has gone too long, it feels like it’s been 6 months. Which made me think, only 5 and a half months until the end of the year! wow!

That’s a good thing :)

I wish the Honda Civic tour would come to Australia! 3 of my favourite bands…ON ONE TOUR (The Academy is…, Fall Out boy and Cobra starship).
It would be the best concert ever. Sometimes i wished i lived in America. hahaha.

But, they’ll never come here :(

And in other news…

I got my braces off! my teeth are straight, and good to look at for once, braces are stupid and annoying.

ALSO..
My brother was at the gym and he dropped weights on his foot, he shattered huis big toe in 5 places, which almost seems impossible, considering the size of a toe!

Well, i’m gonna finish up this blog.

Bye kids!
